This is a really good devotional for the busy person just wanting to stay grounded in their faith. I had a rough start to this year and needed this more than I would have thought when I purchased it. I finished it in less than a year, and will probably revisit it at the start of the next year.My only complaint about this devotional is that I wish it included prayer guides or thoughts to consider (that probably makes me lazy). All in all, I think this devotional would be most beneficial when used as part of a greater daily faith enrichment routine.

It is obvious Lynda has a wealth of biblical knowledge, which she makes relatable in this one year devotional. What a wonderful way to start each day with a small, edible bite of God's Word that applies directly to everyday life. I would highly recommend this book to anyone really needing to wash themselves with encouragement and godly direction.
Four stars for this beautiful daily devotional. Lynda has captured the simplicity and depth of the scriptures using verses from both the Old Testament and the New Testament and then offering encouragements, challenges and inspiration that will enrich the lives of people of all ages. On good days and bad there is something in these short messages that will lift the reader’s faith, give guidance and direction about the truths of scripture, about God’s unfailing love, power and greatness. I found these refreshing readings a reminder of the need for right expectations and Godly living amidst the struggles and challenges of daily life and would highly recommend Cling to God.

I chose to review an ARC of this devotional. I didn't have high expectations at first, as I had just been reading a devotional by a deep Bible teacher, whose academic insight into culture and language often boggles the mind. So my initial response was that Lynda Young's devotional was a bit light and fluffy. But I read on each morning at breakfast, as is my habit with devotionals. I began to feel the uplifting and encouraging power of Lynda's choice of Scripture and her brief encouragement she wrote for each one. A funny story, where the book actually proved helpful I was stuck at the airport after a cancelled flight, in a long line waiting to find out if a replacement flight could be found. Instead of engaging in all the agitation and angst that was with the rest of the folks in the line, I pulled out my kindle and went on reading Lynda's devotional. After about four of the daily devotionals, I laughed, as each Scripture presented spoke to the mounting impatience, and encouraged peace and trust in God. This will make a good gift for anyone who has a habit of reading devotionals.
Beautifully written, these devotions are just right at any time of the day to remind us of how much God loves us and shelters us.
Wonderful book. I read my devotional each day and always find it to be thought provoking and inspiring. I hope Lynda is working on a book for next year so it's ready for day one 2018.
I don't read many religious books, but I can see how soothing this would be as people go through tough times with themselves, others, and various situations. Lynda's style is engaging and easy to follow.
Cling to God is a book of 365 reflections based on Bible scriptures. Each one begins with the date and a scripture passage from either the Old or New Testament. This is followed by a page or two of reflection on how the passage can be applied to daily life. Most express the unfailing love of God and the importance of relying solely on Him.
Christians who wish to add devotions to their daily routine will find this book useful. It's simple and easy to understand. Recommended for Christian readers.
